Walking holidays – this truly unspoilt area is mapped with famous walking routes including the Route Richard Cour du Lion (Richard the Lionheart). Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. At the end of the day, kick off your boots and relax with a glass of wine (or two!)
Painting/writing – La Basse Peze is surrounded by fields and forests. We have our own lake to sit beside which homes an abundance of wildlife.
Fishing – we have a small lake in which you may practice and serious fishing is available locally.

Cycling – the Tour de France passes through local towns in the summer. For the slightly less enthusiastic why not bring your cycles and try out some of the local routes!?

|  | We have 2 double bedrooms, our charming Perigordian home is situated into the tranquil countryside in Perigord Vert - an area renowned for its natural beauty all year round. Each room has French windows with views over open countryside.
The small farm was once a working walnut farm and the trees remain today, still bearing their wonderful fruits.
We are home to horses, dogs and a variety of wildlife which lives in surrounding forests and in our lake!
Bergerac is approx 2hr. drive from us and Limoges 50 mins - airport delivery and collection can be arranged. Thiviers and St. Yrieix railway station are approx. 20mins drive.
This area is made famous by it’s historical connexion to Richard the Lionheart.There are many places of interest for those wanting to explore.Lots of well signposted walks and cycle paths to suit all abilities. Nearby Jumilhac Le Grand has a fine chateaux steeped in history.
We also have a man-made beach a short distance away with watersports and bar/restaurant.
Perigueux, the capital city of Dordogne, is approximately 40 mins. drive away. The city sits on the river L’Isle. The streets of Perigueux boast a variety of shops and restaurants and the architecture of the old town, including the cathedral,is breathtaking.
10mins. from the house takes you to Excideuil – a small market town which hosts a street market each Thursday.
